Zero Stigma, Zero New Infections, Zero deaths from HIV: Our vision for a world inclusive of PLHIV
About Us
Our network began in 2004 when a group of like-minded individuals from different regions of Kolhapur began meeting in government offices to address the urgent needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV). In our early years, due to fear and stigma, people were not ready to join the network.
Today, we are a beacon of hope and empowerment for thousands in the region.

Our Team
NKP+ is proud to have a dedicated team of professionals working tirelessly to provide essential services and support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Kolhapur. The team is comprised of individuals with diverse roles and responsibilities, ensuring that the organization can effectively address the complex needs of its beneficiaries.
While a Project Director oversees the overall direction and management of NKP+'s projects and initiatives, our project Coordinators ensure they are implemented efficiently and effectively.
Supported by an outreach worker, who identifies individuals in need of assistance, conducts outreach activities, and a health promoter, who focuses on education and prevention, identifying gaps in services and advocates for resources. Our Youth Volunteers group consisting of Children Living with HIV (CLHIV), provide peer support to other youth in the community, support community mobilization by conducting awareness and outdoor activities.
Discrimination Response Team:
Our Pioneering Initiative towards Combating Stigma
The Discrimination Response Team (DRT) was born out of a deep understanding of the devastating impact that discrimination can have on individuals living with HIV/AIDS.Discrimination can lead to a wide range of problems, including legal challenges, violence, and domestic violence.
Many individuals facing discrimination, including us, may not have the expertise or resources to navigate these complex issues on their own. We asked ourselves "How could we create a more effective team to advocate for change at different levels?"
To address this, we brought together a diverse group of representatives from various fields, including legal social workers, activists, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS, allowing for a comprehensive approach to addressing discrimination at different levels. By documenting the experiences and learnings of individuals facing discrimination through active listening, the DRT has been able to identify patterns, advocate for policy changes, and provide targeted support.
NKP+ is proud to be one of the few organizations in the region with a dedicated DRT. The initiative was first launched in 2014 and has since become a vital component of our work.
